disability

While there are many definitions of disability, I currently lean toward Carol Thomas’ Social-Relational Model of Disability, as described and expanded on by Reindal in 2008: A social relational model of disability: a theoretical framework for special needs education?

No Disabled person is required to disclose their disabilit(y/ies) in order to be taken seriously or accommodated. That said, I am open about my disabilities and here is an incomplete list of my bodymind divergences, grouped according to the higher level diagnosis categories to which they most likely belong:

  • Hypernychthemeral Syndrome (a.k.a. N24)
  • Ehler-Danlos Syndrome
  • Autism
  • PTSD
  • Conditions of unknown or multiple origin
